Danielle Mahoney

Danielle is a passionate lifelong learner who weaves her mindfulness practice into her teaching in a NYC public school. She holds a BA in Sociology and Elementary Education from Queens College, and a MS in Literacy Education from Long Island University.

As a former classroom teacher, current Literacy Specialist and perpetual advocate for children, she is dedicated to ensure the secular, safe, adaptive and inclusive teaching of mindfulness and yoga to NYC public school students, their families, teachers and administration. She leads with love and enjoys working closely with students with special needs and English language learners. She became a Certified Mindfulness Educator, after completing Mindful School’s 300 Hour, Year-Long Certification Program in 2015. She is a Registered Yoga Teacher and Children’s Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance, which acknowledges the completion of her yoga teacher trainings with Little Flower Yoga and Breathe for Change. She is an advocate for wellness initiatives that benefit all members of her school community.

Danielle lives in Astoria, where she was born and raised. She is an active volunteer and enjoys bringing people together to help those in need. She is grateful to have the opportunity to bring mindfulness and yoga to the people in her community, right here, in a studio setting.
